EAGLE NEWARK THEATER'S "12 ANGRY MEN" IS PHENOMENAL!
The production, created by Eagle Academy Newark scholars in partnership with Changing Perceptions Theater (under the leadership of it's founder Shaun Neblett),Belmont Runyon Community School and Newark Public Schools was a great example of "youth community theater". Students, parents, families, community groups (a special thank you to The HUBB!), community leaders and others joined Eagle Academy Newark for a morning of theatrical excellence. We are so proud of the work these scholars have done and the City of Newark for supporting these young men. More to come!
Eagle Academy Newark Theater presents: OUR SOLDIERS STORY
NEWARK JUNE 21, 2017 In June of 2017 the Eagle Academy Newark Theater program, under the direction of Shaun Neblett, Changing Perceptions Theater, staged a beautifully moving production called "Our Soldiers Story". Inspired in equal parts by the Eagle Academy model, the movie "A Soldiers Story" and the book Metamorphosis by Kafka the scholars created a stunning and suspenseful story about brotherhood and overcoming the negative and destructive voices. Powerful performances and gorgeous sets (that were constructed by the scholars!) topped off a great night of theater at Eagle Academy Newark. * Click on the pictures below to enlarge. **Photos by Terrance Jenning
