Rumble 2016-
On November 30-December 2, 2016, the Campaign for Black Male Achievement (CBMA) will host its 6th-annual "Rumble Young Man, Rumble" gathering for Black men and boys! Since 2010, “Rumble Young Man Rumble” has convened leaders nationwide in Louisville to share promising practices and lessons learned, and to create collaborations with young Black men in communities across the country.
CBMA CEO Shawn Dove, along with Rev. Dr. Alfonso Wyatt of Strategic Destiny LLC, developed the theme and title of the “Rumble Young Man, Rumble” event, which embodies the encouraging and edifying counsels between Muhammad Ali and his corner man, Drew “Bundini” Brown. “Rumble Young Man, Rumble” solidifies Dove's vision of the Muhammad Ali Center with Louisville serving as the "epicenter for Black Male Achievement.
Said Dove, “’Rumble Young Man, Rumble’ is a prime example of how the Campaign for Black Male Achievement seeks to invest in and support the Hometown Heroes and Local Leaders who are advancing the BMA field."
At the 5th Annual event last December, we live-streamed our first-ever CBMA Awards, which included a poetry slam, special guests, and more! This year's awards, taking place on December 1st from 6:00-8:00 p.m. EST, will also be livestreamed, the link for which you can find and save HERE.

Eagle Academy for Young Men of Newark
#RYMR7 is the preeminent gathering of cross-sector leaders, she-roes and heroes (“Rumblers”) working to improve life outcomes for Black men and boys. #RYMR7 is a catalytic, invitation-only convening (“coming together”) of iconic Black male achievement sheroes, heroes and leaders who are actively #BuildingAndBattling for the lives of Black men and boys.
CBMA launched RYMR as a convening, not a conference. If you do your pre-RYMR “roadwork”, and fully engage during the Rumble, you will become more connected to the work and others; you will feel compelled to press ahead; and, you will [re-] engage the catalytic energy of Rumblin’ so that you continue to do the work needed to improve conditions for Black men and boys.
Rumblin’ is a lifestyle that begins with CBMA’s RYMR convenings, then extends far beyond. At #RYMR7, you will join over 200 other local, national and international Black male achievement leaders, eager to connect, be compelled, and continue catalyzing work that ensures Black men and boys are seen and treated as promises and possibilities. Get ready to reflect, recharge and Rumble!
IMPORTANT INFO
The official RYMR agenda will be distributed Thursday November 30, but you’ll find info you need below. Please pay close attention to the times, links and locations below. Rumbles run on time, and Rumblers are prompt – all times indicated are EDT:
