To our Eagle Academy for Young Men of Newark Rumblers and parents:

Greetings! Once again some of our Eagle ACademy Newark scholars have been invited to participate in the Campaign for Black Male Achievement (CBMA) seventh Rumble Young Man Rumble 2017 Conference (#RYMR7) in Louisville, KY.  Please READ this message entirely, as it contains information to help you plan for #RYMR7.

I will have lunch with the scholars on Monday morning to review some additional points of the trip. They should be prepared to
1. Day one: Travel clothing - Comfortable but neat. Jeans and sneakers are fine
2. Day two. Please pack a complete and clean Eagle Academy for Young Men of Newark uniforms (Blue oxford shirt, black shoes, grey pants, black belt, sock and tie.)
3. Day three: Comfortable clothes similar to day one.
4. Bring extra dress shirt and pants
5. Pleas have all of the scholars get haircuts before Wednesday morning.
6. I will reach out to each parent/guardian individually also.

If you need any additional information before or during the trip please call me at 862 216-7870.

Thomas Owens
Eagle Academy for Young Men of Newark

#RYMR7 is the preeminent gathering of cross-sector leaders, she-roes and heroes (“Rumblers”) working to improve life outcomes for Black men and boys. #RYMR7 is a catalytic, invitation-only convening (“coming together”) of iconic Black male achievement sheroes, heroes and leaders who are actively #BuildingAndBattling for the lives of Black men and boys.

CBMA launched RYMR as a convening, not a conference. If you do your pre-RYMR “roadwork”, and fully engage during the Rumble, you will become more connected to the work and others; you will feel compelled to press ahead; and, you will [re-] engage the catalytic energy of Rumblin’ so that you continue to do the work needed to improve conditions for Black men and boys.

Rumblin’ is a lifestyle that begins with CBMA’s RYMR convenings, then extends far beyond. At #RYMR7, you will join over 200 other local, national and international Black male achievement leaders, eager to connect, be compelled, and continue catalyzing work that ensures Black men and boys are seen and treated as promises and possibilities. Get ready to reflect, recharge and Rumble!
